Review: 21 Jump Street

I saw a few clips of this on TikTok before I decided to watch it and I'm glad I did, this post will contain spoilers!

21 Jump Street

Summary

Two best friends and partners on the police force can't do anything right. They are sent to an undercover operation at 21 Jump Street. They have to pretend to be teenagers to find who's been dealing drugs to teenagers at a high school. The problem is, in high school Jenko (Channing Tatum) was a jock and cool kid and bullied his now best friend Schmidt (Jonah Hill) who was more of a nerd. Funnily enough when they return to high school Schmidt is the cool one. Everything goes down at prom and the question is can Jenko and Schmidt remember to read the drug dealers their Miranda rights?

One Sentence Review

Rating: 7/10

This is such a funny film; however, the film was a little long

My Thoughts

I've never seen a film with Channing Tatum before this one and I do want to start out by saying he set a high bar for when I see him in future films because his lines were gold. Every joke was really on point for me, I really enjoyed watching this. Sometimes it's hard for a comedy to be fun if you're not with friends or family who are laughing with you. This film is good to watch anytime any place.

My only note was that it dragged on a little too long towards to middle. While it was really funny, there was a point where I was ready for the film to end, this was from around the time of Eric Molson's (Dave Franco) party to when Jenko and Schmidt get ready for prom.

Favorite Character

Eric Molson was my favorite character, a drug dealer with a strong set of morals and a need to take care of the environment. His lines were hilarious and were what made me laugh the most which is what makes him my favorite.

Best Quotes

5) "It obviously starts with you have the right....to remain an attorney" - Jenko

4) "When did I get stabbed? That's awesome" - Schmidt

3) "You don't care about the environment, that's fucked up man" - Eric

2) "I punched him and he turned out to be gay afterwards" - Jenko

1) "You know what they do to handsome guys like me in prison? It rhymes with grape...it rhymes with grape" - Eric

An Inspired Playlist

This film is fun and cosmetical and that is reflected in its' soundtrack, I've added two songs from the film, The Real Slim Shady by Eminem and Park Rock Anthem by LMFAO. Here's some more songs that fit the vibe because they all have a fun energy to them and have been in some other similar comedy films.

Sound of the Police - KRS-One

Jump Around - House of Pain

U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer

It's Tricky - Run-D.M.C.

Ridin' - Chamillionaire, Krayzie Bone

Scream (1996)

I recently rewatched Scream, one of my favorite movies so I figured it would be a great first review! Also, this will definitely contain spoilers after the review section so if you haven't seen it and you don't want spoilers only read the first two sections! Summary       Scream takes place in Woodsboro, California, and is centered around Sydney Prescott.  The town is hit by a string of murders, the targets being the teens of Woodsboro High School surrounding the anniversary of Sydney's mother's death (absolutely a coincidence). Sydney quickly becomes the focus of the investigation and the target of the killer. This film is a fantastic mix of comedy and thriller and an iconic 90s film. Scream is almost 2 hours long and directed by Wes Craven (other notable work includes Nightmare on Elm Street and The Hills Have Eyes) One Sentence Review Rating: 10/10  I absolutely love this film because of the way it blends horror with comedy as a parody of a horror movie...

Review: High School Musical 2

While I've never seen the third one, usually I will choose to watch the second one over any of the three, this post will contain spoilers! High School Musical 2 Summary      The summer in between junior and senior year is happening and Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) and Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) Evans are going to relax at their family's country club while the rest of their peers' search for jobs. Sharpay still wants to be with Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), so she has him offered a job at the club, naturally he also helps all his friends, and girlfriend, Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) get jobs there as well. Sharpay tries to steal Troy away by giving him many gifts while tossing her brother Ryan to the side. Troy has to decide between accepting Sharpay's gifts and keeping his friends. One Sentence Review Rating: 6/10 While slightly better than the first, the movie is still not all that great.  My Thoughts      When people ask me about this film, which isn't often, ...

About Me

Sup! I don't know too much about blogs, so this is going to be a fun journey. A friend of mine had a book vlog a while back and I wrote for that once and it was pretty fun. I'm always told I don't know when to shut up about the film and to start a blog so I can bother people online about it. I love music, basically, all genres. Some of my favorite artists include Taylor Swift, Conan Grey, Queen, Lady Gaga, Fall Out Boy, and Keith Urban. Reading is also a big hobby of mine; Six of Crows is my favorite book, but I also love The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and The Hunger Games. One of my favorite things to do is to sit down and enjoy a nice movie or a couple episodes of a TV show before bed, but I don't really have people to talk about it to in extreme detail, hence the blog. My plan for this vlog is like an informal layout of my thoughts on films that I watch.  I watch everything from comedies to dramas to science fiction to documentaries. However, my favorite genre is...
