Rewatched this today, I have nothing else planned for today so here. Legally Blonde Summary Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon), president of the Delta Nu sorority, 4.0 GPA in fashion merchandising at UCLA, and expecting to be proposed to by her boyfriend Warner (Matthew Davis). That is until Warner breaks up with her for not being smart enough to be with him once he starts at Harvard Law School. Heartbroken, Elle realizes the only way she can get Warner back is by going to Harvard Law School too. Once she arrives though, she realizes law school is nothing like college and that Warner is now engaged to an old girlfriend, Vivian (Selma Blair). As Elle continues her year, she makes a friend, Paulette (Jennifer Coolidge) and starts to really enjoy going to law school. One-Sentence Review Rating: 10/10  Classic film doesn't deserve anything less than a 10.  My Thoughts     This is absolutely a classic, the theme is uplifting and empowering with great comedy and a fun ca...

Review: Middle School Worst Years of my Life

I give you; I'm running out of movies I've seen this year so here's one that I watched because it's a comfort movie Middle School Worst Years of my Life Summary      Rafe (Griffin Gluck) has been kicked out of more schools than one can count and there's only one school left that will take him. Unfortunately for Rafe, the principal (Andy Daly), is a super strict authority figure. He has a book of strict rules and is obsessed with getting the highest scores on standardized testing. Rafe decides to take his chances and become a vigilante to stand up for the student body against the oppression of the rules.  One Sentence Review Rating 10/10     Does this deserve a 10/10, no, but this movie is special to me for literally no particular reason so it's getting 10/10 My Thoughts     Do these middle schoolers look like high schoolers, yes. Is it book accurate, no clue never read the books. Does the film in general make sense, absolutely not. Do I stil...

Review: Hunger Games Catching Fire

My favorite movie of the entire series to end this mini-series because Sunrise of the Reaping is out tomorrow!!! This post will contain spoilers! Hunger Games: Catching Fire Summary      After coming out of the Hunger Games victorious, Katniss (Jennifer Lawerence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) live to District 12's victor village before going on their Victory Tour. Almost everyone has bought their fake love story, except for President Snow (Donald Sutherland). He tells her by the end of the Victory Tour he needs to be convinced. Unfortunately, while they tried to make their story more believable, they failed. As a result, they are forced to return back to the arena for the 75th Hunger Games.   One Sentence Review Rating: 10/10 No explanation, just perfection, film peaked here.  The Tiny Details     I love everything about this film, especially the worldbuilding. On the Victory Tour you see some of the Districts, really get a feel for how the t...

Review: The Hunger Games

Continuing on with the series, this post will contain spoilers! The Hunger Games Summary     Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawerence) lives in District 12. As a member of District 12 she must participate in the Reaping. A process where her name is put in a raffle and if picked, she is sent to the Capitol and forced to survive the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are a yearly tradition that serves as a reminder to why a District should not rise up against the Capitol. One boy and one girl are picked from the 12 districts and put in an arena to try to survive any kind of conditions the game makers can come up with. On this Reaping, Katniss is not called, but her sister, Primrose (Willow Shields), is. Naturally, Katniss volunteers and is swept away to the Capitol with about a 4% chance of returning to see her family again. One Sentence Review Rating: 10/10     This is a masterpiece film and translates the book to film so well The Tiny Details     Everything a...

Review: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

With the new book coming out, I want to go over my to 3 from my favorite film franchise, this post will contain spoilers!   Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Summery The story of President Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blynth). An orphan after his father died in the war, raised by his Grandma'am and cousin, Tigris (Hunter Schaffer). Coryo attends a prestigious school pretending to be rich until he can win the Plinth prize by having the best academics of his graduating class. However, this year there's been a change to the requirements of receiving the prize. Instead of performing the best academically, Coryo must perform the best as a mentor in the Hunger Games. It doesn't necessarily mean win the Hunger Games but have a tribute who is popular amongst the Capitol and makes people want to watch. The headmaster of the school assigns Coryo to district 12's Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler). She makes it easy to appeal to the Capitol as she breaks out into song during the reaping.  One S...

Review: Teen Beach 2

Back to the schedule of Teen Beach reviews, this post will contain spoilers! Teen Beach 2 Summary      Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mack (Maia Mitchell) are starting the new school year with different priorities. Mack wants to focus on academics and Brady does not. Meanwhile, the cast of Wet Side Story is continuing to repeat the film over and over as they're supposed to, but Lela (Grace Phillips) is not having it. She travels to Mack and Brady's world, followed by Tanner (Garett Clayton). Lela loves the real world because she can be her own independent person, not defined by her love interest and never wants to go back. Except the longer Lela and Tanner stay in the real world, the rest of the characters of Wet Side Story fade away. One-Sentence Review Rating: 6/10     I think we're all still upset about the ending. My Thoughts      I really love the concept of this film because it's the first film but flipped. It feels satisfying to have characters bot...

Review: Mickey 17

Went to the movies today and saw Mickey 17, so while it's fresh in my mind, here is a review, this post will contain spoilers! Mickey 17 Summary      Mickey 17 is the 17th version of Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson), a man who is an "expendable" on a space trip. He is used as a guinea pig for every situation because when he dies, he is printed back to life and given back his memories that are stored on a hard drive. When Mickey 17 is left to die on the ice planet, Niflheim, he is saved by the animals that live on the planet, dubbed Creepers by the politician running the trip, Marshall (Mark Ruffalo). When he makes it back to the ship, he finds that Mickey 18 has already been printed, creating multiples existing at the same time. This is illegal and in the case of multiples occurring, the hard drive is supposed to be deleted along with all existing printed Mickey's. On top of this, Marshall is dead set on wiping out the Creepers and establishing a pure, perfect human...

Review Teen Beach Movie

I reviewed High School Musical, which a lot of people acknowledge as their most memorable Disney Channel Original, so it's only fair I review what I think is the best original. This post will contain spoilers!  Teen Beach Movie Summary      Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mack (Maia Mitchell) spent their summer surfing, but with summer coming to an end, Mack's aunt shows up to take her off to boarding school. Conflicted, Mack goes out for one last surf on her family's special surfboard when a storm hits, and Brady and Mack are transported into Brady's favorite movie musical, Wet Side Story. They assume they need another storm to get them back to their world. Luckily, there is a storm in the film, unfortunately, it's at the end of the film. While they're waiting for the movie to play out, Mack runs into Tanner (Garett Clayton) and stops him from meeting and falling for Lela (Grace Phipps). Lela falls for Brady instead and it messes up the plot of the entire film. Mack and...

Review: A Real Pain

Recently started watching Succession so really, I had to write a review for this one, this post will contain spoilers! A Real Pain Summary      Two cousins, Benji (Kieran Culkin) and David (Jesse Eisenberg) who used to be close reunite to go on a tour of Poland to honor their grandmother who recently passed. As they continue the tour it becomes more obvious how different the two are and tension resurfaces when David thinks about their past and how they got to where they are today. One-Sentence Review  Rating: 8/10     A good film with some really funny moments and some really sad moments Tiny Details      My favorite parts and my favorite characters kind of go together so I'm merging them today. Kieran Culkin in this film was just amazing; his comedic timing was great, and the complexity of his character was really interesting. It was a really thought-provoking portrayal of a character who makes a joke of everything but is really intern...

Review: The Apprentice

Reflecting on some other films that were Oscar nominated that I didn't review before the Oscars, this post will contain spoilers! The Apprentice Summary     This is the story of how Donald Trump (Sebastian Stan) became Donald Trump. While in legal trouble, he turns to Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong) for a lawyer. Roy takes Trump under his wing and teaches him how he navigates society. Roy is a lawyer who's been indicted many times and never admits when he loses, traits absorbed by Trump later on. These tactics pay off as soon Trump is a very successful businessman, completing ever project he sets his mind to and even gets married and has a successful personal life, or so it seems. Trump takes everything that Roy taught him and expands upon it drastically to the point where even Roy sees the atrocity that he's created.  One-Sentence Review Rating: 9/10     This movie is so incredibly accurate down to the mannerisms of each character and provides a lot of clarity....

Review: 22 Jump Street

I’ve now gotten in the habit of posting the sequel review right after the original, this post will contain spoilers! 22 Jump Street Summary      As promised at the end of the first film, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are sent to college. This plot is essentially the exact same as the first film where they have to find the drug dealer. Except this time Jenko gets to fulfill his dreams of playing football in college and really experiencing college. While Schmidt ends up on the more artsy side.  One sentence review Rating: 10/10     Just as good as the first one but better because the pacing was perfect.   My thoughts       My thoughts are relatively the same as with 21 Jump Street except for the fact that the one thing I didn't like about that film, the pacing, was fixed with this. It's hard for a sequel of a comedy to be this good and they achieved that, the humor is consistent, and it maintains the feel ...

Review: 21 Jump Street

I saw a few clips of this on TikTok before I decided to watch it and I'm glad I did, this post will contain spoilers! 21 Jump Street Summary      Two best friends and partners on the police force can't do anything right. They are sent to an undercover operation at 21 Jump Street. They have to pretend to be teenagers to find who's been dealing drugs to teenagers at a high school. The problem is, in high school Jenko (Channing Tatum) was a jock and cool kid and bullied his now best friend Schmidt (Jonah Hill) who was more of a nerd. Funnily enough when they return to high school Schmidt is the cool one. Everything goes down at prom and the question is can Jenko and Schmidt remember to read the drug dealers their Miranda rights? One Sentence Review Rating: 7/10     This is such a funny film; however, the film was a little long My Thoughts      I've never seen a film with Channing Tatum before this one and I do want to start out by saying he set...

Review: High School Musical 2

While I've never seen the third one, usually I will choose to watch the second one over any of the three, this post will contain spoilers! High School Musical 2 Summary      The summer in between junior and senior year is happening and Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) and Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) Evans are going to relax at their family's country club while the rest of their peers' search for jobs. Sharpay still wants to be with Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), so she has him offered a job at the club, naturally he also helps all his friends, and girlfriend, Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) get jobs there as well. Sharpay tries to steal Troy away by giving him many gifts while tossing her brother Ryan to the side. Troy has to decide between accepting Sharpay's gifts and keeping his friends. One Sentence Review Rating: 6/10 While slightly better than the first, the movie is still not all that great.  My Thoughts      When people ask me about this film, which isn't often, ...

Review High School Musical

Recently rewatched this Disney Channel Original and have some thoughts, this post will contain spoilers! High School Musical Summary      The story starts with Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) meeting on their winter break trip to the ski lodge where they are forced to sing together. They leave thinking they'll never see each other again until Gabreilla shows up at Troy's school, apparently having recently moved to New Mexico. When she finds out about the school musical, she tells Troy she won't audition unless they audition for the leads together. When the callbacks list goes up, they make the list much to Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) and Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) Evan's dismay as they usually are the leads in the play.            When Gabriella's Academic Decathalon team and Troy's basketball team find out about the callbacks they work together to keep them from going to callbacks. Meanwhile, Sharpay and Evan...

Review: Song the Hedgehog 3

Revisiting one of the first films I saw this year! This post will contain spoilers! Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Simple Summary     Third Sonic adventure, this time Tails (Colleen O'Shaughnessy), Knuckles (Idris Elba), and Sonic (Ben Schwartz) have to stop Shadow (Keanu Reeves) and Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from destroying the world.  One Sentence Review Rating 6/10 Jim Carrey was amazing in this movie though it had some dull moments My Thoughts      This is a fun one, I didn't think this franchise would go past a sequel, but I was wrong. The plot was boring, but I loved Shadow's backstory. There were a lot of good jokes and moments, I like the main trio's dynamic, it's what keeps the film interesting apart from Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey is easily the best part of this film playing two characters with all the best lines. Overall, I don't have much to say, it was entertaining but not a film I'd watch again, probably because I'm not the target demographic of the film...

Review: Jumanji: The Next Level

The last post was Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, so naturally, the next film in the franchise would be the next review! This post will contain spoilers. Jumanji: The Next Level Summary      This film takes place 3 years after the first, the main 4 characters are now in college but coming home for winter break. Everyone seems to be doing well except Spencer (Alex Wolff). He decides that he wants to be Dr. Bravestone again (The Rock), so he tries to fix Jumanji, the game he previously destroyed with his friends. When Spencer doesn't turn up to brunch the others Fridge (Ser'Darius Blain), Martha (Morgan Turner), and Bethany (Madison Iseman) go to his house and discover the semi-fixed game in the basement. They attempt to go back into the game but since it is not entirely fixed, Bethany is left out of the game and Spencer's Grandpa Eddie (Danny DeVito) and his friend turned enemy Milo Walker (Danny Glover) are transported into the game instead.      When...

Review: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)

Now that the Oscars are over, I'm back to doing whatever movie I've watched to far this year. This post will contain spoilers.   Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Summary      A reinvention of the 1995 film in video game form. Four teenagers, Spencer (Alex Wolff), Fridge (Ser'Darius Blain), Bethany (Madison Iseman), and Martha (Morgan Turner) are stuck in detention when they find the video game version of Jumanji and decide to play. As opposed to the first Jumanji, the four are transported into the game and become video game characters, Dr. Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson), Franklin Finbar (Kevin Hart), Professor Oberon (Jack Black), and Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan).      They discover that to escape the game they need to save Jumanji by returning a stolen jewel to the Jaguar statue. Each character has different skills that contribute to their team, meaning four teenagers who barely interact have to work together. On the way they find Alex (Nick J...
